Vivo Announces OriginOS 7; OriginOS 7 Preview Program for iQOO 15 and Vivo X300 Pro Live in India

Vivo has announced the launch of OriginOS 7 in China. The new software version based on Android 17 comes with a range of updates covering the user interface, system performance, AI capabilities, battery management, connectivity, accessibility and security. In India, the OriginOS 7 preview program for iQOO 15 and Vivo X300 Pro has also gone live.

OriginOS 7: What’s New?

OriginOS 7 brings a new Light and Shadow visual system that changes brightness, colours, movement and visual depth based on the environment, time and user interactions. The update also adds dynamic translucent materials, an immersive home screen, liquid themes, Q-bounce effects, AI-generated pet themes and flash card themes that respond to the phone’s movement.

Then there’s a new Atomic Animation 7.0 system which makes interface elements deform, separate, merge and rebound during interactions. Atomic Workbench also enables different multi-window layouts, including side-by-side apps and a top-and-bottom arrangement. Vivo says its six-year anti-aging test recorded just 5.08% degradation in system fluidity.

OriginOS 7 also introduces the Blue River Smooth Engine, which reconstructs parts of the rendering pipeline, compilation framework and storage architecture. vivo claims 14% higher rendering efficiency, 19% faster page-switching response, 12% faster App launches and 60% faster memory recycling. Storage Compression 2.0 can also provide up to 25GB of additional available space on a 256GB device.

Blue Heart Small V gets expanded AI capabilities with a new Pro Mode that can remember habits and preferences and complete complex tasks step by step. It can assist with travel planning, personal errands and job hunting, including customising resumes and conducting mock interviews. Small V can also handle system settings, create personalised widgets, answer questions about photos and understand live video.

OriginOS 7 adds AI features across screenshots, photos, files, calendars, notes and recordings. These include automatic recognition of voucher codes and passes, AI-based gallery cleaning, document and contact searches through the keyboard, file grouping, AI-assisted calendar scheduling, memory cards, recording summaries and AI photo retouching.

The update also focuses on battery management. Micro-Power Wizard 3.0 can maintain basic functions such as calls and location-linked text when the battery is critically low, while Transparent Battery Life shows estimated remaining usage time and charging time. The Blue Ocean Smart Engine adjusts power consumption based on activities, while other changes target UI rendering, network standby and charging behaviour.

Connectivity and accessibility features include Dual-Path Directional Audio, cross-device collaboration through vivo Office Suite, expanded smart-home controls and Smart Car Connectivity 7.0. vivo says the latter supports more than 190 automotive brands and 10,000 SKUs. OriginOS 7 also adds a Sign Language Interpreter and vivo Vision for real-time video understanding.

On the security side, OriginOS 7 adds sensitive permission alerts for location, microphone and camera access, along with additional controls for notifications, app sounds and vibration.

OriginOS 7: Supported Devices, China Rollout Timeline

On October 9, OriginOS 7 is scheduled to roll out to the vivo X Fold6, X Fold5, X300 Ultra Satellite Communication Edition, X300 Ultra, X300 Pro Satellite Communication Edition, X300 Pro, X300s, X300, X300E, and vivo Pad6 Pro. On the iQOO side, the update will arrive for the iQOO 15 Ultra, iQOO 15, iQOO 15T, iQOO Neo11 Pro, iQOO Neo11, and iQOO Pad6 Pro.

The second phase begins on October 29. vivo devices included in this batch are the X Fold3 Pro, X Fold3, X200 Ultra, X200 Pro Satellite Communication Edition, X200 Pro, X200 Pro mini, X200s, X200, S60, S60 Pro, S60t, and vivo Pad5 Pro. iQOO devices scheduled for this phase include the iQOO 13, iQOO Neo10 Pro+, iQOO Neo10 Pro, iQOO Neo10, and iQOO Pad5 Pro.

In November 2026, the update is scheduled for the vivo X Fold2, X100 Ultra, X100s Pro, X100 Pro, X100s, X100, S50 Pro mini, S50, S50t, S50t Pro, vivo Pad5, vivo Pad5e, and vivo Pad5c. The iQOO 12 Pro, iQOO 12, iQOO Neo9S Pro+, iQOO Neo9S Pro, iQOO Neo9 Pro, iQOO Neo9, iQOO Z11 Turbo, iQOO Pad5, iQOO Pad5e, and iQOO Pad5c are also listed for this phase.

The December 2026 rollout will cover the vivo X90 Pro+, X90 Pro, X90s, X90, S30, and S30 Pro mini. iQOO devices in this phase include the iQOO 11 Pro, iQOO 11S, iQOO 11, iQOO Z11, iQOO Z11S, and iQOO Z10 Turbo+.

The final listed phase begins in January 2027, when OriginOS 7 is scheduled to reach the vivo S20 Pro, S20, Y600 Pro, Y600 Turbo, Y500 Pro, Y500i, and Y500s. The iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and iQOO Z10 Turbo are also included in this phase.

OriginOS 7 Preview Program for iQOO 15 and Vivo X300 Pro

Vivo India and iQOO India’s social handles have announced that they’ve opened the OriginOS 7 Preview Program in India for the Vivo X300 Pro and iQOO 15. The preview is based on Android 17, with a limited number of users getting the opportunity to test the upcoming software update.

Registrations are open from September 16 to September 20, 2026, with 500 slots available for each device. Registering does not guarantee selection, as applications will be reviewed before eligible users are notified, as per Vivo.

Users can register by going to Settings > System Update > Settings in the top-right corner > Upcoming Updates > Closed Beta Sign-Up > View Details.

For iQOO 15 users, the phone needs to be running software version 16.0.24.1 before applying for the preview program.
