Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The new Fold 8 Ultra and the Fold 8 come powered with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Processor while the Flip 8 gets the Exynos 2600 globally. The devices run on One UI 9 based on Android 17 and have Gemini Intelligence that was announced by Google in May this year.
With Gemini Intelligence, one can simply describe what they need or even add screen or image context. App automation can now work across 40+ supported apps and services, with capabilities ranging from looking up tickets to finding a nearby restaurant and making a reservation. With Gemini Notebook, users can bring together notes, images, recordings, files and documents in one persistent workspace to collect, organize and develop their ideas. Drag-and-drop support in Split view makes the workflow even more intuitive, allowing users to easily add multiple files and images and turn their content into audio overviews, infographics, reports, meeting recaps, visual summaries, documents and more. Gemini Intelligence is currently available only in the US and Korea in English (US) and Korean languages.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Specifications
The Z Fold 8 Ultra is available in Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow colours with a Green Shadow shade exclusive to Samsung’s online store. It is available in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB variants.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra sports an 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary display with 2504 x 2256 pixels Resolution, 422 ppi, up to 3000 nits brightness, and a 120Hz adaptive Refresh Rate that can go down till 1Hz. The display on the outside is a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. It has 2520 x 1080 pixels resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, 422 ppi, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate same as the inner panel, going down till 1Hz. It is protected with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Victus 2 on the back.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy Chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It runs on Android 17-based One UI 9.0 that will get 7 years of OS upgrades and 7 years of monthly security updates.
For optics, you get a triple camera setup at the rear, including a 200-megapixel f/1.7 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle f/1.9 sensor with a 120-degree field-of-view (FoV) and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, 3x optical zoom, PDAF, and OIS.
There are two front cameras on the phone: one inside the cover display and one in the foldable panel, and both of them are 10-megapixel f/2.2 Sensors housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Connectivity options will include 5G, LTE, Bluetooth v6.0, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There will be a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, stereo speakers, while the device is IP48 rated also. Finally, the handset packs a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging along with 20W fast wireless charging support.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Specifications
The Z Fold 8 is available in Graphite, Cream, Lavender colours with a Pistachio shade exclusive to Samsung’s online store. It is available in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB variants.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 gets a 7.6-inch foldable main display and a 5.5-inch cover display. These are Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a Resolution of 2448 x 1848 pixels, 403 ppi, up to 3000 nits brightness, and a 4:3 aspect ratio for the foldable panel. The cover display gets a 1972 x 1248 pixels resolution, 428 ppi, 10:16 aspect ratio, and a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is protected with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Victus 2 on the back.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: Specifications
The Z Flip 8 can be bought in Graphite, Cream, Pink colours with a Mint shade exclusive to Samsung’s online store. It is available in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 sports a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover panel with a 60Hz to 120Hz refresh rate adaptive refresh rate, 342 ppi, and a Resolution of 1048 x 948 pixels. The cover panel and the back panel are both protected with the Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Furthermore, it features a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X foldable main display. This one has a 2520 x 1080 pixels resolution, 400 ppi, up to 3000 nits brightness, 21:9 aspect ratio and an adaptive Refresh Rate ranging from 1Hz up till 120Hz.
This phone is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 globally, except for the US and Canada where it gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. These are paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 comes with a dual-camera setup on the back. It includes a 50-megapixel f/1.8 sensor with OIS and a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens. On the inside, it gets a 10-megapixel f/2.2 front-facing sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 packs a 4300mAh battery. It charges at 25W speeds with a wired charger, and supports 15W fast wireless charging 2.0 along with reverse wireless charging as well.
Connectivity options include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The Z Flip 8 runs on One UI 9.0 based on Android 17 and will get 7 years of major OS upgrades and security patches. It also supports Samsung DeX. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, along with stereo speakers for audio. The device is IP48 rated also.
