Lectric eBikes, the largest electric bike company in the US by just about any metric you can measure, has just unveiled its latest model: the Lectric XP Lite3. And with a starting price of just $799, the new lightweight folding electric bike is continuing the company’s tradition of packing surprisingly impressive features into remarkably affordable e-bikes.
The XP Lite2 had been widely considered the best bang-for-your-buck option in the ultra-budget category, offering an affordable yet punchy Class 2 e-bike for a song, despite still coming from a reputable US-based company with strong reputation for warranty and support.
Now, the third-generation model builds on what has become one of the most successful budget e-bike platforms in the country, bringing a long list of upgrades designed to make the bike easier to ride, fold, transport, and live with.
And perhaps most importantly, Lectric has managed to keep that familiar $799 starting price that debuted on the original XP Lite1 all the way back in 2022.

The Lectric XP Lite3 gets a major upgrade
The new Lectric XP Lite3 weighs just 49 lb (22.2 kg), making it one of the lighter options in Lectric’s extensive lineup of folding electric bikes. That’s still no featherweight, partly due to Lectric’s insistence on not neutering the bike’s performance, but it’s still a solid 10-20 lb lighter than the average direct-to-consumer e-bike these days.
The bike retains the compact folding design that made its predecessors popular with everyone from college students to RV owners, but introduces a redesigned frame with improved ergonomics and a reinforced folding latch borrowed from the company’s flagship XP4 model.
New quick-release pedals further reduce the bike’s storage footprint, making it easier to squeeze into a car trunk, apartment closet, or RV storage compartment.

Despite its compact dimensions, the XP Lite3 can support a maximum payload of 275 lb (125 kg) and accommodates riders ranging from 4’8” to 6’2”.
The bike reaches speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and offers up to 40 miles (64 km) or 80 miles (128 km) of range in Eco mode, though expect significantly less range when using higher-power pedal assist or throttle-only riding. The range discrepancy comes from two different battery offerings. The base model features a 374 Wh battery, while the long-range version has nearly twice the capacity at 672 Wh.
Power comes from Lectric’s Stealth M24 motor, which is rated at 300W continuous but over 800 peak watts. The motor combines with Lectric’s pedal assist selector to offer five levels of pedal assist that are personalizable, letting riders dial in exactly how much boost they’d like on their ride. Riders also get a twist throttle, a more comfortable style of throttle enabled by the lack of shifters crowding the bars on this single-speed e-bike.
Several other upgrades help the XP Lite3 punch above its weight class, including integrated rear turn signals, a bright 3.5-inch full-color display brought over from other recently launched models in the Lectric lineup, and a redesigned LevelUp Lite rear rack with new mounting possibilities.
Stopping power comes from Star Union 602 hydraulic disc brakes with thicker 2.3 mm rotors, another welcome feature on a bike at this price point.
Lectric is also offering a Gates Carbon Belt Drive version of the XP Lite3, giving riders a cleaner, quieter, and virtually maintenance-free alternative to a traditional chain drivetrain. That Gates belt drive model fetches a $100 premium, but is likely worth it for those who value the cleaner, maintenance-free alternative that is likely to outlast the bike itself.
The chain-drive version comes in Arctic White, Blue Mist, Matte Grey, and Matte Lavender, while the belt-drive model is offered in JW Black and Ballerina Pink.

Lectric continues to redefine affordable e-bikes
It’s difficult to overstate just how much Lectric has changed the American electric bicycle industry.
The Phoenix, Arizona-based company has grown into the country’s largest e-bike brand by both sales volume and the total number of e-bikes on the road. In doing so, it has become one of the most recognizable names in affordable electric transportation.
But Lectric didn’t get there by simply building cheap electric bikes.
Instead, the company helped revolutionize what consumers should expect from a budget-friendly e-bike, combining capable hardware, practical designs, and aggressive pricing with something that has historically been missing from much of the low-cost e-bike market: a real American company standing behind the product.
While countless inexpensive e-bikes sold online come from little-known overseas brands with questionable long-term support, Lectric has built its reputation around US-based customer service, accessible replacement parts, and a company that riders can actually reach when something goes wrong.
That’s a big part of what has made the XP Lite series so important.
Since its introduction, the XP Lite series has arguably set the standard for what an entry-level electric bike should be. It isn’t necessarily the most powerful, fastest, or fanciest e-bike on the road, but it delivers the essentials at a price that opens electric cycling to an entirely new audience.
And importantly, it does so without requiring riders to gamble on an unknown brand.
The XP Lite3 continues that formula, adding features like hydraulic disc brakes, integrated turn signals, and a color display that would have been difficult to imagine on a $799 e-bike just a few years ago.
