HEX’s New Sling XL Bag Can Hold Cameras, Laptops, and Drones

HEX has announced a new addition to its Ranger lineup of camera bags: the Sling XL. The company says it is designed for carrying multiple cameras, as well as a 13-inch laptop, a drone, and several lenses.

“The Ranger Collection conveys the essence of HEX as a brand: functional, sharp, and street-ready styles that are all designed with feedback from creators, and we’re really excited to be introducing a new level of versatility with the Sling XL,” says Trent Valladares, HEX Founder, and CEO.

“The Ranger Sling XL is a really unique size that we think photographers will find perfect for mid-size carrying needs. We are super proud of this bag and believe it is the gold standard of slings.”

The Sling XL is larger than a traditional sling-style camera bag, but smaller than a backpack, fitting it nicely in between to offer the photographer enough space for carrying a myriad of different camera gear, according to the needs of the day.

HEX developed the SlingXL by collaborating with photographers and listening to customer feedback on features that a modern creative would want. The bag is configurable for not only carrying camera gear, but also electronics and even a change of clothes for a weekend photo safari.

Using HEX’s patented Clamshell zipper system, the Sling XL has multiple access zones for safely storing a variety of gear, while keeping the overall footprint of the bag relatively compact. There is all a faux fur-lined phone pocket, a padded air mesh back, to provide breathability for the user, and cinch straps for stowing an unused jacket or tripod. The SlingXL also incorporates EVA padded dividers that can be custom-fitted according to the photographer’s equipment needs.

The SlingXL is made of water-resistant Ballistic Nylon, printed with a camouflage motif, but the SlingXL also comes in Black, Glacier Camo, and Blackout Camo color options. There is also a hideaway rainfly to offer even more weather protection when the weather turns torrential.

The dimensions of the HEX SlingXL are 14.5x11x5 inches, it has an overall weight of about 2.2 pounds, has a carrying capacity of about 15 liters, and is expected to sell for $150.
