Yesterday Huawei sent invites to guests for its Mate 20 X (5G) unveiling in China and today ZTE also followed suit in the 5G race. The reborn-from-ashes company introduced the Axon 10 Pro 5G at MWC 2019, started selling it in markets like Northern Europe and the Middle East and now it is time to bring it home. ZTE is already gathering reservations for the unveiling of the phone, scheduled for August 5.
The phone is a bit different than the regular Axon 10 Pro. It comes with more RAM and sports the Snapdragon X50 modem, but the biggest difference between the 5G and vanilla variant is the price tag.
ZTE will offer the new device for CNY4,999 ($726/650), while without the gigabit speed it is just CNY3,199 ($465/415) for the 6/128 GB option. For comparison, ZTE is selling the phones in Finland for 599 and 899.
For these prices, you get a 6.47 curved screen with Full HD+ resolution and AMOLED panel, housing an FP scanner underneath. There are three cameras on the back in the golden combo – 48 MP main shooter, 8 MP telephoto lens and 20 MP wide-angle camera. The battery is 4,000 mAh and has Quick Charge 4+.
The device usually is offered in three memory combos – 6/128 GB, 8/256 GB, and 12/256 GB, but ZTE will equip the 5G unit with the least impressive.
