Coinbase Co-Founder Fred Ehrsam Raises $100M for Brain Interface Startup

Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam, who launched a brain interface startup last year, announced on Tuesday that the new project, dubbed Nudge, has raised $100 million from two venture firms, Thrive Capital and Greenoaks Capital Partners.

Several angel investors also participated in the Series A fundraise. Nudge launched its first product earlier this year, the Nudge Zero, a non-invasive ultrasound neuromodulation device. The product uses ultrasound technology to modify brain activity in a way that impacts cell membranes in the brain without causing permanent changes or damage. “We’ve raised a $100M Series A from Thrive Capital, Greenoaks, and a host of great angels,” Ehrsam wrote in a post on X. “Everyone’s brain can work better. Engineering that idea into reality is the most impactful advancement we can make to life.”
