Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro tops DxOMark camera chart

Xiaomi announced the Mi CC9 Pro today with five cameras on the back, and Lei Jun, company CEO, said DxOMark gave its camera a score of 121. The overall score is equal to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, with the CC9 Pro getting 130 in stills (vs 132 for the Mate 30 Pro) and 102 in videos (vs 100).

The version benchmarked was the Premium Edition that has an 8P lens in front of the 108MP 1/1.33” sensor, not the regular variant that has “just” a 7P aperture. The CC9 Pro also has a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom and f/2.0 lens; another 5MP 5x telephoto cam with 1/3.6” sensor and OIS; an ultrawide 20 MP shooter, and a macro cam dedicated for close focus from 2 to 10 cm, which DxO did not test.

There are also two dual-LED flashes – one with hard light and the other with soft light.

The result for videos is the highest ever benchmarked by DxO, edging out the Google Pixel 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G by a point.

DxOMark: Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro tops camera chart

Having plenty of cameras allows consumers to take photos in pretty much all conditions – from night shots to ultrawide angle touristic images to tremendous close-ups. The Mi CC9 Pro might have some things to tweak here and there, but with such a camera phone, Xiaomi has surely made a great step forward.
