Vivo has announced the Vivo T5 5G in India. The Vivo T5 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor which delivers 233% faster on-device AI generation, a huge 7050mAh Battery, and a 6.83-inch 1.5K 144Hz 3D Curved AMOLED display. Here are all of its details.
Vivo T5 5G: Price, Availability
The Vivo T5 5G comes in Royal Bronze and Silver Green shades. It is priced at Rs 34,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, 8GB + 128GB model at Rs 39,999, 8GB + 256GB trim at Rs 44,999, and 12GB + 256GB priced at Rs 49,999.
It will be available from September 9 at 12 PM through Flipkart, Vivo’s online store, and leading offline stores such Reliance Digital and vivo exclusive stores. Exclusive launch offers include up to Rs 3,500 instant discount on 6GB + 128GB model and Rs 4,000 instant discount on all other variants with HDFC, SBI, and AXIS Bank cards, and up to 6-month no-cost EMI.
Vivo T5 5G: Specifications
Vivo T5 5G sports a 6.83-inch curved AMOLED Display with 1.5K resolution (2800 x 1260 pixels), 449 ppi, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 120Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The device has a 32MP f/2.0 selfie sensor with Autofocus support and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo T5 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo Processor paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs on Android 16-based Origin OS 6 and will get 3 major OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.
For optics, the Vivo device has a 50MP primary camera with Sony IMX882 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, OIS, LED flash, paired with a 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor.
The device packs a 7050mAh battery with 44W Fast charging. It is also IP68 and IP69 rated and has stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio. For connectivity, there’s 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, and a USB-C port for charging.
Vivo T5 5G: Should You Buy It?
The Vivo T5 is essentially a rebranded iQOO Z11 5G but in different colours. So if you like iQOO’s colour options better, then go for one of those instead of Vivo’s T5. Aside from that, at Rs 34,999, the Vivo T5 5G is a fairly well-rounded smartphone, especially when you look at its design, battery, cameras, and software update policy. However, as we concluded with iQOO Z11 as well, at this price, there are several alternatives that offer more compelling hardware, making the Vivo T5 5G a decent option rather than an obvious recommendation.
One of the alternatives is the OnePlus Nord CE 6, with its 8GB + 128GB variant priced at Rs 37,999. Despite being slightly more expensive overall, it offers a bigger battery, faster charging, a higher refresh rate display, and a slightly more capable Chipset on paper. The main compromise is the camera setup, as the Nord CE 6 misses out on the secondary ultra-wide-angle sensor found on the Vivo T5 5G.
The Poco X8 Pro is another strong option at Rs 39,999, where you get the 8GB + 256GB variant. That gives you twice the storage compared to the 8GB + 128GB Vivo T5 5G at a relatively small price difference. Poco’s phone also brings a considerably better chipset, faster charging, better durability, faster RAM and storage, and a slightly brighter display. It also uses the same type of camera Sensors on the rear. The biggest compromise is the battery, as the Poco X8 Pro packs a smaller 6,500mAh cell. Even so, it offers more hardware for the money and arguably makes for a better deal.
If you’re willing to move closer to the Rs 50,000 mark, there are even more options to consider. The Nothing Phone (4a) series offers better cameras and faster RAM, while the OnePlus Nord 6 brings a better chipset, display and battery, along with faster RAM and storage and similar cameras.
Other phones worth considering in this price segment include the Redmi Turbo 5 and Motorola EDGE 70 Pro 5G. Overall, while Vivo’s device gets several important things right, the competition makes it difficult to call it the best value-for-money option at Rs 34,999.
