Redmi 17 5G has been announced in India as the brand’s latest mid-ranger. It comes with features like a 7,900mAh battery, a smooth 120Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform and a 50MP AI camera. Here’s everything to know about the new Redmi 17 5G in India.
Redmi 17 5G: Price, Availability
The Redmi 17 5G costs Rs 23,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model and Rs 26,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. The Redmi 17 5G will be available across mi.com, amazon.in and Xiaomi Retail stores from 10th September 2026. It comes in Absolute Black, Endless Blue and Eternal Orange with a Vegan Leather Finish.
Redmi 17 5G: Specifications
The Redmi 17 5G sports a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels along with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 8-bit colours, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 825 nits of HBM brightness. It is protected with Gorilla Glass 7i.
Under the hood, the Redmi 17 5G has the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage with support for expandable storage up to 2TB. The handset runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3.0 out of the box.
There is a 7900mAh battery under the hood with 45W Fast charging support and 22.5W reverse wired charging support. On the rear, the phone sports dual 50MP f/1.8 camera setup with an auxiliary sensor. For selfies, an 8MP f/2.05 front-facing camera is included.
Additionally, connectivity options include support for 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.1, Dual hybrid SIM, Wi-Fi 5, GPS, FM radio, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm Headphone jack. It also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, stereo speakers, and an IP64 rating.
Redmi 17 5G: Should You Buy It?
Around Rs 23,999, if you like Redmi’s phone, you can get the Poco M8x 5G which is cheaper at Rs 22,999 and offers the exact same specifications as Redmi 17 5G. Further, you can also go for the cheaper 4GB RAM model if you want, available at Rs 20,999.
Realme Narzo 100x is another great pick that offers you similar specs as the Redmi 17 5G but with a different software experience if you are not into HyperOS.
Redmi 17 5G indeed offers good value but only for the 8GB RAM model and if you like the orange shade. Otherwise, the Poco M8x 5G does the same job for a cheaper price tag.
