Realme unveiled its first tablet dubbed Realme Pad last September with Android 11. And while Realme didn’t make any promises about the version updates then, a company employee recently said that Realme Pad won’t receive Android 12, disappointing all who purchased it. But Realme today confirmed that the Realme Pad will indeed get Android 12, giving a sigh of relief to the tablet’s users.
While that’s definitely good news, Realme Pad users will have to wait for months since Android 12 will be released in Q3 2022, meaning sometime between July and September. It’s also unclear if Android 12 will be the last version update for Realme Pad or if the company will release Android 13 as well. We reached out to Realme for clarification and the company said they don’t have any plans for Android 13 right now.

Realme revealed that Android 12 will bring an enhanced lock screen and notification UI to Realme Pad with scrolling screenshots, dedicated one-handed mode, and improved widgets.
Additionally, Realme promised to provide three years of security updates to Realme Pad, but how frequently will the young brand release those remains to be seen.
Despite being a first-gen product, we liked the Realme Pad when we reviewed it, and the tablet also earned a place in our list of best tablets of 2021. You can read our detailed Realme Pad review here to learn more about it or watch the video review linked below.
