Realme 8 Pro video teardown shows how big the 108 MP camera actually is

Following up on his (in)famous “durability test” performed on the Realme 8 Pro late last month, Zack from YouTube channel is now ready to take things to the next level. And that, as you may know, means a teardown of the phone. On video, recorded for posterity’s sake.

He wants to see just how big that 108 MP camera really is, especially since this is a much cheaper phone than a flagship, and such big numbers have been mostly seen on higher-end devices so far (if we ignore Xiaomi actually putting the first ever 108 MP sensor in a mid-range phone, of course).

If you’re curious too, and don’t mind a comparison between the Realme 8 Pro’s main snapper and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra’s, well, grab your popcorn and enjoy the ride!

Because the back is plastic, it’s much easier to remove than if it were glass, as there’s no risk of shattering or breaking. The speaker has no foam balls inside to make its sound seem ‘larger’, but at least it does have a waterproofing mesh over its opening. There’s also a mesh and a waterproofing gasket over the mic hole, so while the phone isn’t officially IP rated, it might survive a splash or two.

The two 2 MP useless sensors on the back are almost as small as the fingerprint sensor that sits underneath the display, funnily enough.
