Photographer Rachel Canale’s popular video series details the outrageous Photoshop requests clients have asked of her.

Requests such as, “Can you make it look like I’m hugging a leopard?” and “Can you put me in a selfie with Beyoncé?” appears to be commonplace in Canale’s line of work.

Speaking to PetaPixel, Canale explains how her series “Things People Have Asked Me To Photoshop” came to be.

“Creating art in Photoshop is always something I’ve been passionate about,” says Canale.

“For three years now I’ve been posting all the ‘behind the scenes’ of my photoshoots on TikTok and I just
wondered, how can I take this to the next level?” she says.

“So I decided to create a series called ‘Things, People Have Asked Me To Photoshop’ to show off the final process of producing my photos,” she continues.

“I also wanted to show people what is possible, because most people will be shocked seeing what you can do with the software.”

Canale, from Melbourne, Australia, says she is inundated with Photoshop requests, but one of the more memorable ones came to her when she was on-location in the Maldives.

“There was a storm but we needed the photos to look ‘picture perfect so I had to Photoshop a pink sunset to disguise the darkness outside,” she says.

“I love a challenge. I treat Photoshop like a work of art, you can really create something unimaginable and unrealistic. I love seeing how far I can take it.”

Canale’s series has been a wild success on TikTok, with the videos garnering millions of views.

“Tiktok loves seeing this content! I find it so interesting myself seeing the full process of editing a photo so I’m not surprised it has blown up,” she says.

“My DMs have been flooded on Instagram with people asking me to edit their own photos now.”

Canale has been a professional photographer for eight years and says she has experience in a wide range of styles including weddings, swimwear, and portraits.

“I don’t like to limit myself, as long as I’m taking photos I’m happy, so I don’t mind what I’m shooting,” she says.

“I’d say I’m most well-known for my portraits and swimwear work which I do admit would have to be my favorite.”
