Infinix announced the Zero 8 smartphone in August and we got the chance to review it. Now the company is following it up with a slightly toned down version dubbed Infinix Zero 8i.
The new phone is pretty much the same as the old one, down to the footprint and the internals. We’re looking at a 6.85” LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The chipset is Helio G90T and is coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, with optional expansion through the microSD slot.
The main shooter on the back is now 48MP with an f/1.8 lens in front instead of the 64MP f/1.9 module on the Zero 8. The 8MP ultrawide snapper with 119-degree FoV is unchanged though and so are the two modules of dubious usefulness – the 2MP depth sensor and AI camera.
The dual front-facing cameras also saw a downgrade as the main one is down to 16MP (vs 48MP). The 8MP ultrawide unit is staying as it was.
Infinix Zero 8i in Black and Silver
Infinix Zero 8i comes with a 4,500 mAh battery and 33W fast charging, a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. The fingerprint scanner is on the side, doubling as a power key.
The Zero 8i is priced at INR14,999, which is about $200/€165. Infinix will launch the Zero 8i in Black or Silver on December 9 via the Indian retailer Flipkart.
