A video posted to YouTube briefly shows how the Huawei Mate X2 connects to a Huawei Matebook laptop.
The video shows the user tapping the Mate X2 with the laptop using NFC. Once connected, the phone’s display is instantly thrown up onto the PC’s display. While this isn’t a new feature, what’s interesting is how the Multi-Screen Collaboration feature handles the secondary internal display.
Once unfolded, the mirrored view of the screen is quickly expanded to reflect the larger screen of the foldable phone. The transition between external and internal screen is very quick, and with low latency.
The Huawei Mate X2 is the successor to the Chinese OEM’s Huawei Mate X and Mate XS. This new foldable features an inward folding akin to the one on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2. Huawei boasted about the smaller gap in the display when it’s folded when compared to Samsung’s.

The Mate X2 has an overall wedge shape when it’s open and it’s the first foldable to sport a periscope zoom camera. It has dual selfie cameras on the external screen, and a quad-camera setup on the back. Sadly, you can’t use the internal screen for video calls as there’s no camera here.
