Huawei refutes rumors on splitting up with Leica

Earlier today a leakster Digital Chat Station claimed that Huawei and Leica’s cooperation has come to an end. However, a Huawei spokesperson was quick to say this is “absolutely fake news”, while Leica reps said they “have no information about the termination of the relationship”.

The leakster usually provides inside information about unreleased devices but it looks like he was fed some misleading news. He also claimed that other local companies have already approached the brand for cooperation.

Leica has been providing camera know-how to Huawei since 2016. The smartphone company has been launching flagships with impressive cameras since the Huawei P9 that had “one of the best camera setups on the market” up until the latest Mate 40 Pro and its “most capable camera system to date”.
