Google Confirms Pixel 11 Series Launch Event for August 12; Pricing, Colour Options Leaked

Google has officially confirmed the Pixel 11 series launch event which will be taking place on August 12. A lot of the device’s specifications and some of its renders have already leaked online, suggesting Google won’t be giving up on the design it has been using since the Pixel 9 series. The new Pixel 11 series is expected to consist of a total of four models including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Here’s everything to expect from Google for its next generation o Pixels.

As per the invites going out by Google, the Pixel 11 series launch event is scheduled for August 12. The launch event begins at 6 PM ET (3:30 AM IST on August 13 in India). The invite also has a teaser image of an upcoming Pixel which shows the device in a gold shade. The aluminium frame appears to retain a glossy look which suggests it is one of the Pro models. Also, design-wise, a major new addition could be the “Pixel Glow” lighting feature on the camera bar which has been leaked before. It could work similar to how Nothing, Tecno, and other brands have implemented LEDs on the back their devices.

Google Pixel 11 Series Key Specs: What to Expect?

All the models of this year’s Pixe lineup are expected to have the Tensor G6 chipset. The chip is said to feature a 1+4+2 CPU configuration based on newer ARM C1 cores, paired with a PowerVR C-Series GPU. It will also include an updated Titan M3 security chip and a MediaTek M90 modem, marking a notable shift away from the Samsung Exynos modems Google has relied on in previous generations. The Chipset is further expected to bring upgrades to Google’s TPU and its custom image signal processor.

Speaking of cameras, the Pixel 11 lineup may see some hardware changes this year. The standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are expected to use a new 50-megapixel main sensor, while the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL could get new Sensors for both the main and telephoto cameras. While detailed specs are still unclear, this suggests Google is making more significant changes to camera hardware this year.

On the hardware front, the Pixel 11 is tipped to sport a 6.3-inch display with a 1080×2424 resolution, a 60-120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2200 nits of brightness, along with a 4,840mAh battery and 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to retain a similar screen size but with a higher Resolution and brightness, paired with a 4,707mAh battery and up to 16GB RAM. The Pixel 11 Pro XL could offer a larger 6.8-inch display, a 5,000mAh battery, and similar RAM options.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is also part of the lineup, with an inner OLED display supporting a 1-120Hz Refresh Rate and an outer display with up to 120Hz support. It is expected to pack a 4,658mAh battery and up to 16GB RAM. One notable change is the presence of lower RAM variants across the lineup, which stands out since Google moved to 16GB RAM on its Pro models in the previous generation. This could be due to the RAM shortage crisis affecting smartphone makers worldwide.
