DxO has announced updates to PhotoLab 5, FilmPack 6, and the Nik Collection of apps and presets, all of which have improvements, workflow enhancements, or additional presets.
PhotoLab 5.1 will bring an improved User Interface along with GPS coordinates leveraged directly from Google, FilmPack 6.1 also has an improved workflow for the time machine feature. Nik Collection 4.3 brings an additional 35 nature-inspired presets to give users even more creative potential with their images.
Additionally, the updates bring support for the Chinese Language as well as new camera support including the Canon EOS R3, Ricoh GRIIIx, Fujifilm X-T30 II, GFX 50S II, and more. Within PhotoLab 5.1’s improved UI and photo filter menu is an enhanced GPS coordinates system that can display directly on Google Maps.
The “Time Machine” feature released in FilmPack 6 has been improved and now offers a more streamlined user experience with a “one-click” activation available to apply to images while browsing.
The 4.3 Nik Collection update brings a plethora of nature-themed presets to the application suite. Nik Color Efex now includes a bundle of “The Seasons” presets designed to give images a tone that reflects the seasons. “Winter” will bring cooler tones to the image while “Autumn” warms things up by pushing green foilage towards the red, orange, and yellow.
The company says the “Tonal Landscapes” found in Nik HDR Efex will allow users to enhance the soft greens of spring foliage, or enhance the glow of golden hour. In Nik Analog Efex, users can use the “Landscapes of Yesteryear” presets to create a vintage and retro feel to their images. Silver Efex has six new “Dramatic Landscapes” presets added to improve haze reduction, add increased intensity to the skies, and add grain to highlights and shadows for extra depth.
In addition to the above presets, six Meta-presets have been added that “blend together filters and settings from multiple Nik Collection plugins for quick application.” These combinations are available for users in Adobe Photoshop with a single click.
Nik Collection 4.3 is available to download on the company’s website for $99.99 (and $59.99 for current users to upgrade) until the end of the month before returning to full price.
DxO PhotoLab 5.1 and FilmPack 6.1 are available for download for $54.99 to $219 depending on the version purchased. Free trials and discounted upgrades are available for new and existing users respectively.
