Corsair’s new flexible 45″ 4K OLED monitor goes from flat to curved

While curved televisions have basically disappeared from store shelves, curved monitors remain a very popular option for PC gamers and heavy-duty desktop users. Curved displays can be more immersive and deliver more screen real estate within a given footprint.

A couple of weeks ago, Samsung launched its $3,500 55″ curved 4K monitor, which is undoubtedly one of the flashiest curved displays we’ve seen. But what if you don’t always want your monitor to be curved? That’s where Corsair’s new Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 display comes in. The OLED gaming monitor can be manually bent by the user, turning it from flat to curved at a whim.

In a sponsored video, YouTuber Bitwit went hands-on with Corsair’s new flexible gaming monitor. As shown in the video below, you curve the monitor using extending handles and can independently flex the left and right sides. The curvature ranges from completely flat to an 800R curve.

The 45″ display has a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 3440 x 1440 resolution. The display panel is made by LG and delivers a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and a 1,350,000:1 contrast ratio. The display has a 0.03ms response time, 0.01ms pixel on/off time, and up to a 240Hz refresh rate. It’s compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium sync standards. The panel includes an anti-reflective coating and incorporates LG Display’s Low Blue Light technology to reduce eye strain.

The display includes many ports and connectors, including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, USB-A and a headphone jack. The front-mounted USB ports should be handy for connecting devices. As Bitwit points out, the display isn’t VESA-compatible, so you must rely on the included stand instead.

The Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 OLED monitor is being shown off at Gamescom 2022 this week and will be available to customers later this year. The price has not yet been announced. For more information and to sign up for updates, visit Corsair.
