Cardone Capital Buys 1,000 BTC, Blending Real Estate with Crypto
Grant Cardone’s private equity firm, Cardone Capital, has taken a bold step into the crypto space, announcing the acquisition of 1,000 bitcoin (BTC)—valued at over $100 million as of June 27. The strategic purchase marks a significant expansion of the firm’s treasury strategy and showcases a growing convergence between real estate and digital assets.
The move follows a high-profile meeting earlier this year between Cardone and Michael Saylor, the outspoken Bitcoin advocate and Chairman of Strategy. Cardone, a longtime proponent of Bitcoin, revealed that the conversation with Saylor served as a pivotal moment, motivating him to formally integrate bitcoin into his investment ecosystem.
“By combining two best-in-class assets—real estate and bitcoin—we are building the most resilient and forward-thinking portfolio in the market,” Cardone said in a statement provided to Bitcoin.com.
The newly launched 10X Miami River Bitcoin Fund is the latest product of this strategy. The fund pairs exposure to bitcoin with a 346-unit multifamily commercial property on the Miami River, offering investors a dual-asset opportunity. This hybrid approach not only aims to hedge against inflation but also seeks to maximize capital efficiency by leveraging bitcoin’s liquidity alongside real estate’s stability and income potential.
Cardone Capital’s foray into digital assets is part of a broader trend among private and public firms exploring bitcoin treasury strategies as a store of value. The decision to allocate a substantial portion of the company’s balance sheet to BTC signals a long-term commitment to cryptocurrency as a core asset class, not just a speculative play.
Cardone, known for his aggressive investment style and the “10X” brand philosophy, is now applying that same boldness to crypto. With institutional interest in bitcoin rising and real estate markets continuing to evolve, this dual-pronged approach reflects a shift in how modern portfolios are being constructed.
As traditional and digital asset classes become increasingly intertwined, Cardone Capital’s BTC acquisition positions the firm at the forefront of financial innovation, blending the permanence of property with the potential of programmable money.
