Apple hired Oldboy’s film director to shoot a movie using an iPhone 13 Pro

Apple has been marketing its iPhones’ capabilities to shoot professional-grade videos for a couple of generations now and for its latest campaign, the company hired a renowned Korean movie director, Park Chan-wook. For those of you who don’t know, that’s the man behind the Korean Oldboy movie from 2003.

But Apple’s film is a short one, just 20 minutes, and it’s called “Life is but a dream”. It’s a martial arts fantasy film shot entirely on iPhone 13 Pro and it’s out on YouTube.

Apple also released a short clip that goes behind the scenes where Park and his crew use iPhone 13 Pros on gimbals for that extra stabilization. Of course, the crew talks about the iPhone’s Cinematic mode that artificially blurs out the background behind the subject for a more dramatic, professional look.
