Xiaomi Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A receiving MIUI 11 Global Stable update

The Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A, which were slated to receive MIUI 11 Global Stable update in India starting November 13, have already started receiving Xiaomi’s newest custom Android skin in the country.

The new firmware for both smartphones sports version number 11.0.1.0.PCPINXM, but the build for Redmi 8 weighs 600MB in size while the build for the Redmi 8A comes at 544MB.

MIUI 11 Global Stable update for Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A

The MIUI 11 update is still based on Android Pie instead of Android 10 and comes with the October 2019 security patch.

However, it does bring in new UI to the Redmi 8 series along with a system-wide dark mode, new natural sounds and alarm ringtones, and a new quick replies feature. You can head this way to learn more about MIUI 11.
