Xiaomi Mi 11 spotted in the wild

Xiaomi’s next mainstream flagship line, likely represented by a vanilla Mi 11 and a Mi 11 Pro is inching closer and closer to release. That much we are pretty certain of, seeing how it has popped-up in the rumor mill on quite a few occasions already.

After getting a fairly good look at the clean and uninterrupted front panel of the Mi 11, we are now treated to a few real-life shots of the phone from the back side.

Cross-referencing the unit’s main camera island arrangement with an earlier case leak for the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro clearly hints that the vanilla variant appears in this live photoshoot. Which, by the way, we can’t help but feel is a bit too “forced”, for lack of a better term, to be an accidental “leak” in the traditional sense. The phone is only visible from the back side, never the front and is often being held in a manner almost posing for a picture. Perhaps the stills originate from an actual product photoshoot set, which can explain some of the oddities. Or, alternatively, they are deliberately “leaked”. Not that it really matters at all, though. We just thought it was worth noting.

In any case, this is a welcome development, since we get to see the actual back design for the Mi 11. Despite the obvious difference in shape and positioning of the main camera module, that particular accent around the main camera sends-off a clear Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra vibe.

Information on the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro is still a bit scarce, but we do have enough to piece together a rough picture. A QHD+, 120Hz display has been alleged for the Pro model. As for camera setup, the Pro is expected to pack a 50MP main snapper, alongside a 12MP telephoto. The latter complete with MEMC support and AI HDR enhancements. We can only assume that the 12MP camera in question is the periscope module, seen in the Mi 11 Pro case leak, we mentioned earlier. Unfortunately, we are short on details regarding what seems like a triple camera setup on the vanilla Mi 11.

Moving on to some other details, we are fairly certain that both Mi 11 models will be using the Snapdragon 888 chipset. We also have battery capacity certifications that suggest 4,780 mAh and 4,970 mAh packs for the vanilla Mi 11 and the Mi 11 Pro, respectively. Both likely to get rounded-up to 5,000 mAh in marketing. This close similarity also makes sharing general proportions, design and even a display between the two modes more likely. Finally, both phones are expected to offer 55W fast charging.
