Xiaomi announced the new MIUI 11 alongside the Mi 9 Pro and Mi Mix Alpha with a more polished design and some key feature expansions. However, the Black Shark smartphones that are running MIUI 10 will instead get an upgrade to JoyUI 11 – a refined gaming-focused interface that uses only the core structure of the original MIUI.
The new interface is aiming to provide better gaming experience to Black Shark phones, and Xiaomi promised more new features and plenty of themes for additional personalization of the smartphone. It is expected to have toggles for different game modes and an easier way to launch the Xiao AI voice assistant that comes with all devices, sold in China.
Currently, there are four devices eligible for the new user interface – the original Xiaomi Black Shark, the Black Shark Helo, the Black Shark 2 and the newest Black Shark 2 Pro with Snapdragon 855+.
