Xiaomi is developing a new app called Mi Health

Xiaomi’s Mi Fit rounds up all the data from Mi devices like the Mi Band, Mi and Redmi phones and the Mi Scale, but apparently the company is working to create a further reaching app called Mi Health. It appeared in the latest MIUI beta build and will share plenty of features with the Mi Fit.

The screenshots from the apk were made by an XDA-Developers member who found the application on the 9.7.23 China Developer Build of the MIUI. It appears that you’ll be able to track your steps and sleep rate, including in the background. There is also a menstruation cycle calendar, a tracker of exercise goals and BMI (Body Mass Index) and Health Scores.

In order to have the apk, you must be either on the Xiaomi beta program in China or have a completely rooted smartphone. Because of that, XDA-Developers decided to withhold uploading the files at this point.

It’s still unclear whether Xiaomi will replace the Mi Fit with Mi Health or the two applications will coexist to offer a choice between wider functionality and smaller footprint.
