Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra India Launch Tipped, Xiaomi 17T May Also Debut

Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra India launch was tipped in a latest leak by a tipster. While the expected launch is still a couple of months away, the tipster also suggested that Xiaomi may bring back the T series smartphones to India which hasn’t seen a new addition in the country since 2022’s Xiaomi 11T Pro.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav posted on X, stating his sources suggest that “Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are expected to launch in India in March.” The Xiaomi 17 debuted in China in September while the 17 Ultra was launched in December. Further, the Xiaomi 17T could also launch in India in April 2026. It will be a comeback for the T series phones from Xiaomi after 4 years.

No details about the specifications and pricing for the devices were shared and the tipster noted that the information he shared is unconfirmed for now, so take it with a grain of salt. If true, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra India launch will take place a year after the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was launched back in March 2025. The lineup in China also consists of the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max which have a secondary display on the back but there’s no word on whether those devices will also be making their way to India.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a 6.9-inch display with a 1.5K Resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels, achieving a Pixel density of 416 ppi. It reaches a peak brightness of 3500 nits and supports Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+ formats. Furthermore, this display employs LTPO technology, enabling a variable Refresh Rate from 1-120 Hz, alongside DC dimming and 2160Hz PWM dimming.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. The device gets 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers and a 4-mic array capturing sound in 360 degrees while recording a video. As for the battery, the device packs a 6800mAh battery with 90W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 22.5W reverse wired charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a triple-camera system on the rear, including a 50MP f/1.7 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with 14EV native dynamic range, 1G+6P Aspherical High-Transparency Lens Group, and OIS. It is accompanied by a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor and a 200MP Leica super telephoto lens with 1/1.4-inch HPE image sensor, f/2.39-2.96 ultra-large aperture, support for 3.2 – 4.3x optical zoom, 3G+5P Aspherical High-Transparency Lens Group, a zoom ring, 30cm Telephoto Macro option, OIS, and support for 8K video recording also. At the front, there’s a 50MP sensor for selfies.

The rear Sensors further also pack features like laser auto-focus, a colour spectrum sensor, Leica lenses, Dual-LED flash, HDR, panorama, and an optional 67mm filter ring holder. Moreover, the master ring is fully sealed to maintain IP66 + IP68 + IP69 ratings.

The handset further has a customised high-vibration X-axis linear motor, USB-C 3.2 port, NFC, Bluetooth v6.0, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, an IR blaster, and Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. The device is also IP68 + IP69 rated. There’s an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
