Xiaomi 17 series India launch date has been announced by the brand and it also revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 will tag along with the new smartphones. The Xiaomi 17 series in India will consist of the base Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, while the Pro and Pro Max which debuted in China with a rear display seem to be skipping the India launch.
Xiaomi 17 Series India Launch
Xiaomi 17 series India launch date is now set for March 11 where the Xiaomi Pad 8 will also debut. The devices seem to be retaining their designs from their Chinese and Global counterparts. The Xiaomi 17 is confirmed to be made available in Green, Blue, and Black colours while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be made available in Black.
The Xiaomi 17, as per the past pricing trends, could be priced close to Rs 80,000 in India while the Ultra could go beyond Rs 1 lakh. However, these are speculative figures while an official confirmation is awaited from the brand’s side.
Xiaomi 17 Specifications
The Xiaomi 17 gets a 6.3-inch (2656 x 1200 pixels) 1.5K Resolution M10 12-bit OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, LTPO technology for 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, up to 3500 nits peak brightness, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, DC Dimming, and Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The Xiaomi 17 gets a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP primary camera with f/1.67 Hunter 950 lens, OIS, LED flash, Leica optics, paired with a 50MP 102-degree Leica OV50M ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 50MP 2.6x 10cm Leica Samsung JN5 telephoto camera with f/2.0 Aperture and OIS. There’s a 50MP f/2.2 selfie snapper on the front.
The Xiaomi 17 is equipped with Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers and a 4-mic array capturing sound in 360 degrees while recording a video. As for the battery, the Xiaomi 17 in India will get a 6300mAh battery compared to the 7000mAh cell in the Chinese variant, with the same 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
It further has a customised high-vibration X-axis linear motor, USB-C 3.2 port, NFC, Bluetooth v5.4, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, an IR blaster, and Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. The handset is also IP68 + IP69 rated.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra Specifications
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a 6.9-inch display with a 1.5K Resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels, achieving a Pixel density of 416 ppi. It reaches a peak brightness of 3500 nits and supports Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+ formats. Furthermore, this display employs LTPO technology, enabling a variable Refresh Rate from 1-120 Hz, alongside DC dimming and 2160Hz PWM dimming.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. The device gets 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a triple-camera system on the rear, including a 50MP f/1.7 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with 14EV native dynamic range, 1G+6P Aspherical High-Transparency Lens Group, and OIS. It is accompanied by a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor and a 200MP Leica super telephoto lens with 1/1.4-inch HPE image sensor, f/2.39-2.96 ultra-large aperture, support for 3.2 – 4.3x optical zoom, 3G+5P Aspherical High-Transparency Lens Group, a zoom ring, 30cm Telephoto Macro option, OIS, and support for 8K video recording also. At the front, there’s a 50MP sensor for selfies.
The rear Sensors further also pack features like laser auto-focus, a colour spectrum sensor, Leica lenses, Dual-LED flash, HDR, panorama, and an optional 67mm filter ring holder. Moreover, the master ring is fully sealed to maintain IP66 + IP68 + IP69 ratings.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers and a 4-mic array capturing sound in 360 degrees while recording a video. As for the battery, the device packs a 6000mAh battery (compared to 6800mAh in Chinese variant) with 90W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging, 22.5W reverse wired charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The handset further has a customised high-vibration X-axis linear motor, USB-C 3.2 port, NFC, Bluetooth v6.0, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, an IR blaster, and Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. The device is also IP68 + IP69 rated. There’s an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Specifications
The Xiaomi Pad 7 sports an 11.2-inch (3200 x 2136) 3:2 LCD display with up to a 144hz variable refresh rate, 345 ppi, 800 nits brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR 10, Dolby Vision, hardware-level blue light reduction, along with TÜV Rheinland hardware-level low blue light certification. There’s an optional nano texture coating available. The Pad 7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Processor.
It gets 8GB LPDDR5x and 12GB LPDDR5T RAM versions with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage options. For optics, the Pad 8 has a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture, on the back and an 8MP f/2.2 front-facing sensor.
It packs an 9200mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging. Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth v5.4, IR blaster,, and a USB Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. Along with that, it gets Dolby Atmos-powered quad speaker system, paired with a 4-mic setup. In addition, it supports the Xiaomi Keyboard and stylus as well, and runs on HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16.
