Xiaomi 13 series global launch set for February 26

The Xiaomi 13 Pro unveiled in China in December will take the next step towards global launch on February 26. Xiaomi’s Indian branch today announced the 13 Pro will launch globally on February 26 at Mobile World Congress (MWC), including India. The event will be livestreamed starting at 9:30PM IST (4PM UTC) on Xiaomi’s official website and social media accounts.

The press note we received has no mention of the Xiaomi 13, but a tweet by Lei Jun says, “The Xiaomi 13 Series Launch event is on February 26th!” The use of the word “series” suggests the vanilla model could also make its global debut alongside the Pro version on February 26.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage onboard. It runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box and packs a 6.73″ QHD+ 120Hz LTPO OLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The display has HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support and a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication. It also has a centered punch hole for the 32MP selfie camera.

Around the back, the Xiaomi 13 Pro sports a triple camera system comprising 50.3MP primary (with OIS), 50MP telephoto, and 50MP ultrawide units. The camera setup also uses a Leica-branded lens.

Keeping the entire package up and running is a 4,820 mAh battery having 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It also supports 10W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 13 also has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip at the helm, but it comes with a smaller screen of lower resolution, packs a smaller battery with slower wired charging, and features a different camera setup.
