Xiaomi 13 pre-orders are live despite postponed launch

The Xiaomi 13 series announcement was postponed following the death of Jiang Zemin – the former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party. The smartphone company still hasn’t announced a new launch date, but that is not stopping online retailers from getting the money of impatient users.

News websites reported that pre-orders for Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are already live, and some people actually paid the CNY999 ($142) deposit, despite the fact the phones are not official.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is said to be the successor of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with a 50 MP main camera and a 1” Sony IMX989 sensor behind the lens. The Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, is supposed to be an affordable and compact flagship with a thin bezel, a flat OLED on the front and flat sides.

According to one source, the Xiaomi 13 will be marginally bigger, just by a millimeter or two, compared with its predecessor Xiaomi 12. Its measures will be 152.8 x 71.5 x 7.98/8.1 mm, and it will weigh 189/185 grams, the difference coming from the panel – it is glass or faux leather.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s measures are reportedly 163.7 x 74.6 x 8.4/8.7 mm with a 229/210-gram weight – here, the heavier but thinner variant is with a ceramic back, the latter option once again being leather.
