Xbox confirms all four new multiplatform games

Xbox has announced the titles of the four games it’s bringing to other consoles: Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded and Sea of Thieves. Pentiment and Grounded are coming to Nintendo Switch — as previously announced in today’s Nintendo Direct — as well as PlayStations 5 and 4 on February 22 and April 16 respectively. Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PS5 on March 19, while Sea of Thieves launches on the same console on April 30.

The company announced last week that it was bringing these four titles to non-Xbox consoles in an effort to maximize their audience and sales, though Phil Spencer declined at the time to name the games. However, he dropped a couple of context clues: Two of the games were “smaller games that were never really meant to be built as kind of platform exclusives” and the other two were “community-driven games.”

Spencer noted that all four games had reached their “full potential” on Xbox, and could therefore be offered to new audiences on other platforms. Grounded and Sea of Thieves both support cross-play for players on all of their platforms. Matt Booty said in a statement that Xbox is “excited for more players to experience these worlds and stories on more platforms.”

These four games are currently the only planned multiplatform releases for Xbox, Spencer confirmed last week. At the present time, the company has no plans to bring upcoming exclusives Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to other platforms.
