Photographers and YouTubers Willem Verbeeck and Allison Simon have partnered with Moment to launch a set of travel bags called “Long Weekend.” While the bags aren’t “camera bags” in the traditional sense, they are bags that support cameras and photographers.
Verbeek’s and Simon’s YouTube channel is focused on analog photography and showcases a mixture of photo walk-style videos as well as content focused on film and equipment.
The bags are described as inspired by the long weekend trips that Verbeeck and Simon take, and are a line of crossbody and shoulder bags as well as straps, key tags, and film pouches that are designed with a look that combines “streetwear” and “outdoor culture,” according to Moment.
The Line includes the Sedona Sacoche Crossbody Bag, the Santa Fe Shoulder Bag, the Adjustable Camera Neck Strap, the Camera Wrist Strap, the Film Pouch, and the Jet Key Tag. The most expensive item of the bunch is the Shoulder Bag which retails for $50, while the least expensive item is the Jet Key Tag that sells for $10.
Moment describes the project as an exclusive collaboration between Moment and Willem and Allison, and is a project that “lives in the Moment mission,” which is to empower creatives.
“From the beginning, Willem and Allison have had a clear vision for a new brand and line of products they wanted to create,” Moment writes. “We’re honored to be working with them, turning their vision into a reality through the Moment platform.”
The idea behind these bags is that they aren’t designed to carry much, but are instead light and minimal. The Crossbody, for example, is described as an “extra pocket” that is a simple over-the-shoulder bag to carry necessities like extra film, snacks, or a smartphone. It is made with 500d Recycled Nylon and “technical gridstop,” and is described as ready for either rain or sun.
The Santa Fe shoulder bag is slightly larger, but is still small when compared to traditional camera bags. Long Weekend describes it as a “carry everything you need and nothing you don’t” kind of bag. It is made from the same materials as the Crossbody and is therefore weatherproof.
The full line of Long weekend bags and accessories can be found on the brand’s website.
