Watch the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition get torn down on video

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is one of the most interesting new devices on the scene right now and Xiaomi thought it would be fitting to take us for a tour of its internals. The brand’s official Weibo profile shared a timely 2-minute teardown video revealing all the key components inside Redmi’s first gaming phone.

The whole process starts by removing the glass back panel which reveals the battery, NFC antenna and protective cover over the motherboard. Removing a few screws and unclipping a few cables shows out the mother actual board and frees up the camera cover which gives us a look at the three modules.

After checking out the motherboard in more detail and spotting the Dimensity 1200 chipset, we are greeted with the JBL tuned stereo speaker setup. There’s a quick shot of the 5,000 mAh battery and the vibration motor. One of the coolest bits in the whole video is an inside look at the release mechanism for shoulder trigger buttons.

The display comes off last revealing a large copper VC heat sink below. We can also spot the triple mics just as the video comes to an end.
