Viltrox has announced the details of its new 35mm F1.8 autofocus lens for Nikon Z mount camera systems.
The lens is constructed of 10 elements in eight groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements, two aspherical elements and two high-refraction index elements. It uses a nine-blade aperture diaphragm, has an aperture range of F1.8 through F16 and it has a minimum focusing distance of 40cm (15.8”).
Unlike many other budget lenses, the Viltrox 35mm F1.8 is chipped for transferring EXIF data and includes autofocus, which is driven by a stepping motor mechanism and supports Nikon’s Eye AF technology. It also has a physical aperture ring and, of course, a manual focus ring for when you want ultimate creative control.
As with many of its recent lenses, Viltrox has also included a built-in USB-C port on the rear mount of the lens for updating the lens’ firmware. The lens measures 70mm (2.76”) in diameter, 90mm (3.54”) long and weighs 370g (13oz). Below is a gallery of low-resolution sample images, provided by Viltrox:
You can purchase a Viltrox 35mm F1.8 autofocus lens for $399 on Viltrox’s online shop. It comes with front and rear lens caps, as well as a carrying pouch and a petal-style lens hood.
