ViewSonic has unveiled a wide array of monitors at this year’s virtual CES 2021 show. Among the new monitors is the company’s first 8K ColorPro monitor. The display has been designed for photographers demanding high resolution and wide color gamut coverage.
The new 32″ 8K ColorPro monitor, the VP3286-8K, has a native 8K resolution (7,680 x 4,320) and displays 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. Connectivity features include Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort plus a USB hub. The monitor has a color-blind mode, which includes advanced color adjustments for ‘improved color recognition.’ This color-bind mode allows the user to simulate color blindness, which ViewSonic states increases color recognition versus standard displays by up to 90%.
To ensure consistent, accurate colors, the monitor also comes with its own calibration device. CNet reports that the VP3286-8K has a module ‘that will act as a backlight for photo editing.’ It will be interesting to see how this module works when the monitor launches this summer with an estimated street price of $5,000 USD.

In addition to the new 8K ColorPro monitor, ViewSonic introduced a 32″ 4K monitor, the VP3286-4K. The 3,840 x 2,160 resolution monitor has 100% Adobe RGB coverage, a color-blind mode and advanced color adjustment options. The 32″ 4K monitor has the same connectivity options as the 8K display, Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort, plus a USB hub. The monitor will be available this summer for $2,000.
ViewSonic has a pair of new 27″ 4K displays as well. The VP2786-4K promises 100% Adobe RGB coverage and the same color-blind functionality and connectivity features as the previous two displays. It will release this summer for $1,000. The second 27″ 4K monitor, the VP2776-4K, has 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage for video editing applications. It substitutes a USB-C port in exchange for Thunderbolt 3. Arriving this summer, the VP2776-4K will cost $900.

Rounding out the new ColorPro lineup is the VP2776-2K monitor. The 27″ display has a native 2K (2,560 x 1,440) resolution and displays 100% of the DCI-P3 color space. It includes the same features as the VP2776-4K, just with lower resolution. The 2K monitor will arrive this summer as well at a $500 price point.
