Editor’s Note: (Monday, February 22, 2021 at 1:43 PM): The original version of this article originally stated the Canon RF version of the Laowa 11mm lens was $699. That is incorrect and we have updated it to the correct price, $799.
Venus Optics has announced it’s adding new mount support for two of its Laowa lenses. The Laowa 11mm F4.5 FF RL (full-frame rectilinear) lens is now available for Canon RF mount camera systems and the Laowa 65mm F2.8 2x Ultra-Macro APO is now available for Nikon Z mount camera systems.
The Laowa 11mm F4.5 FF RL lens is a manual lens constructed of 14 elements in 10 groups with an aperture range of F4.5 through F22. It features a five-blade aperture diaphragm, a minimum focusing distance of 19cm (7.4”) and uses a 62mm front filter thread. The lens has already been available for Leica M, L, Sony FE and Nikon Z mount cameras. The Leica M mount and new Canon RF mount versions retail for $799, while the other mount versions retail for $699.
