The Realme X7 Max 5G launch in India gets postponed due to the second COVID-19 wave

Realme was planning to celebrate its three year anniversary on May 4 with the launch of the Realme X7 Max 5G (aka GT Neo). This was revealed by CEO Madhav Sheth during the latest AskMadhav episode.

However, the COVID-19 situation in India is becoming increasingly more serious, so the CEO decided it will be best to postpone the launch and any celebrations. For now, the company urges everyone to stay indoors when possible, wear a mask and social distance when not.

A couple of days ago Sheth posted that the company will be distributing 100,000 masks for free through its Realme Smart Stores and Realme Experience Stores, as well as sending masks to old age homes and orphanages.

This means that India’s first phone with the Dimensity 1200 chipset will have to wait. Besides the Realme X7 Max 5G, the company was also going to introduce a new smart TV and new smart home gadgets.

It’s hard to predict how things will develop in the next few weeks, so Madhav Sheth did not set a new launch date. The important thing now is to stay safe.
