The Oppo Find X5 series will be unveiled on February 24

Oppo has sent out invites for the official unveiling of the new Find X5 series. You are invited too, virtually – the event will be livestreamed on February 24 at 11:00 GMT. You will be able to watch on Oppo.com.

While the event will introduce a new series, it’s not hard to guess which model is Oppo’s favorite – the Find X5 Pro. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and will run ColorOS.

For the cameras (which were developed in collaboration with Hasselblad, by the way) it will leverage the MariSilicon NPU – a 6 nm chip that will handle image processing tasks, like real-time RAW processing and speeding up AI features for 4K videos up to 20 times.

The shiny back of the phone (which we’ve seen in leaks) is actually an “ultra-hard, true ceramic”. The surface finish looks quite glossy, but Oppo says that a special texture will make it fingerprint-resistant. It should be available in Black and White, perhaps other colorways too.

That’s it for the official details. Unofficially, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is expected to feature two IMX766 sensors (50 MP, 1/1.56”, 1.0 µm) – one for the main camera and one for the ultra-wide. As for telephoto, we heard that there will be a 13 MP camera with 5x hybrid zoom, we’ll see how that goes. The selfie camera will use the new IMX709 sensor that was featured in the Reno7 series. The Pro model should have a 6.7” LTPO AMOLED display (1440p+, 120 Hz), up to 12 GB of RAM, an IP68 rating a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W fast charging (50W wireless).

As for the vanilla Oppo Find X5, we haven’t heard much about it officially, but according to one leakster it will use the Dimensity 9000 chipset and should have the same 5,000 mAh battery with 80W wired, 50W wireless charging. The screen and camera should be comparable to those of the Pro, but we don’t have solid details yet.

By the way, there should be a third member of the family, the Oppo Find X5 Lite, but we expect this one to be a rebadged Reno7.
