The Nokia 6.1 receives Android 10, its second major OS update

The Nokia 6.1 was unveiled nearly two years ago almost to the day – instead of cake, HMD is serving up an Android 10 update for the phone. This comes just a couple of days after the Nokia 6.1 Plus got the update. You can check HMD’s full update roadmap for other Nokia models.

The V4.10C update has a security patch of December 2019. It’s a hefty download of nearly 1.5GB so you better settle in. The update is already seeding in India and Pakistan, judging by the replies to the Tweet announcing its arrival.

The changelog should be familiar by now – dark mode, gesture navigation, smart reply and additional privacy controls.

HMD should complete the Android 10 updates for the “.1” line before the second half of this year.
