The IMO Q2 Plus is coming to EE for £30, is an Android Go phone with 4G and a 4″ screen

What if you want a small, simple phone that is also super affordable? The IMO Q2 Plus True Blue costs just £30 and with a 4” screen it is properly small, which is hard to find these days. You can think of it as a featurephone, but it runs Android 9 Go edition instead of KaiOS (which has limited app support).

The IMO is coming to British carrier EE and will be available later this week with a pay as you go deal. Cheap as it is, this is still an LTE phone, so you will get decent wireless speeds, though you might want to consider tethering.

Otherwise you will have to face the struggle of browsing the web on a 4” 480 x 854px screen and a quad-core CPU with a single gig of RAM. The 1,500mAh battery doesn’t exactly scream “all day browsing” either. The built-in storage is only 8GB, but there’s a microSD slot that can add 32GB more.

The camera department is pretty bare bones with a 2MP main camera on the back and a 0.3MP camera on the front (which is somehow tasked with face unlock duties).

Still, this phone measures just 124 x 63 x 9.9mm and weighs 110g, not the smallest phone ever but quite small by modern standards. Unless you can find the new Palm (which is tricky outside of the US), this is as small as it gets while staying in Android-land (even if it is Go edition). The Palm is pretty pricey too.

If you want a IMO Q2 Plus True Blue, but don’t care for EE, the phone is also available on Vodafone for £40 (including a £10 top-up).
