Sharp AQUOS zero2 announced with 240Hz refresh rate display and Android 10

Sharp introduced the latest entries to its AQUOS line of smartphones with the brand new zero2 flagship, sense3 and sense3 plus midrangers.

The AQUOS zero2 packs an impressive 6.4-inch curved OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate. Sharp is also proud to announce that its the lightest 6-inch phone, tipping the scales at just 143 grams.

The display comes with an FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie cam. There’s an in-display fingerprint reader and a less secure facial unlocking system. The back houses a dual-camera setup with a 12 MP F/1.7 main shooter and a 20MP F/2.4 ultrawide angle secondary cam.

Under the hood, the AQUOS zero2 packs the Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The battery capacity comes in at 3,130 mAh which is rather small given the high refresh rate. The phone is also water and dustproof thanks to its IPX5 / IPX8 / IP6X ratings. On the software front, this device will run Android 10 out the box.

It will be available in Astro Black and Misty White colors but there is still no word on pricing. The phone will be available starting December.

The AQUOS sense3 packs a 5.5-inch IGZO panel with FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The top bezel houses an 8 MP selfie camera while the bottom features a fingerprint reader. Around the back, we have a dual shooter combo with a 12MP F/2.0 primary camera and a 12MP F/2.4 ultrawide angle one.

Under the hood, the phone comes with the Snapdragon 630 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The battery features a 4,000 mAh capacity and the phone runs Android 9 Pie.
