Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 renders and specifications have been leaked in detail ahead of the device’s expected launch in July this year. The new leak suggests that Samsung may be planning to upgrade the battery capacity as well as the charging speed in its foldable. Here’s what to expect.
Leaked by Android Headlines, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 renders suggest that Samsung may not be planning to introduce any major updates to the design considering it only refreshed it last year with major changes. The device appears to have the same protruded pill-shaped camera module we have seen before in the Z Fold 7 with three sensors. The bezels around both displays as well as the overall form factor also appear to be identical to the Z Fold 7.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 renders also suggest that the device could be slightly thicker than the Z Fold 7, with dimensions standing at 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded. The Fold 7, in comparison, is 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded.
However, this change comes for a reason, where the report states that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may bring back support for S-Pen. The Z Fold 7 lacked support for a stylus as Samsung wanted to make the device as thin as possible so the digitizer for the S-Pen was removed as a result. Another reason could be the addition of a slightly bigger battery inside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 over its predecessor.

Same as the Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature an 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary display. The display on the outside may be a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. The device could draw power from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Processor and could be backed by a 5000mAh battery, up from a 4400mAh cell that was in use since the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Charging speeds could also go up from the 25W in the Z Fold 7 to 45W in the Z Fold 8. 25W wireless charging support may also be included. There could be 12GB and 16GB RAM options paired with up to 1TB storage.
