Last week, reliable tipster said that next year’s Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a 50MP 3x telephoto camera, which they now claim will use a 1/2.52″ sensor.
With this sensor, Samsung should get a nice 5x zoom image quality, and that’s the reason why there were rumors of the 3x telephoto unit from the Galaxy S23 Ultra getting replaced with a 5x telephoto camera on the S24 Ultra.
That’s why it was initially rumored that S24 Ultra adopted a 5x sensor. Samsung will emphasize the 5x image quality of the sensor at thanks to the 3x 50MP zoom.

While Samsung is upgrading from the 10MP 3x telephoto unit, says the Korean brand will continue to use the 10MP 10x periscope camera from the S23 Ultra, just like the 200MP primary camera and the 12MP selfie camera. It’s unclear whether or not Samsung will reuse the 12MP ultrawide unit from the S23 Ultra on the S24 Ultra.
In addition to revealing details of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 50MP telephoto camera, claimed that the S24 Ultra would come with an upgraded screen but didn’t get into the specifics. We’ll hopefully have more clarity about that in the coming months.
