Samsung Galaxy S11 to use second-gen 108 MP sensor

We’ve had a good idea from early information that Samsung’s Galaxy S11 will use the 108 MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor Samsung co-developed with Xiaomi, along with a 5x periscope zoom camera. But according to information obtained by usually very reliable the 108 MP sensor in the Galaxy S11 will be a new one, and not the one slated to be the centerpiece of the upcoming Xiaomi CC9 Pro/Mi Note 10.

It’s unclear what a “new” sensor could entail – a change in the matrix, the processing, perhaps a brighter lens on top of the sensor (although that’s not strictly sensor-related).

The 108 MP ISOCELL sensor promises 4-in-1 pixel-binned 27MP photos with heaps of detail, thanks to its gigantic size (in smartphone sensor terms, at least).

As for other Galaxy S11 bits, it’s expected to have the as of yet unofficial Exynos 9830 and/or Snapdragon 865 and LPDDR5 RAM.
