The newest member of Samsung’s Galaxy M-line is here with the Galaxy M42 5G. Looks alone will tell you that it’s a rebadged Galaxy A42 5G and a quick glance over the specs reveals that is certainly the case. Still, it marks an important note as the first 5G phone in the Galaxy M lineup.
The M42 5G brings a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with HD+ resolution and a wateredrop notch. The back houses a 48MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide snapper and two 5MP modules for macro shots and depth data.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 750G chipset paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is expandable via microSD. The battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and supports 15W charging.
The Galaxy M42 5G comes in Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Grey colors. The 6/128GB model will sell for INR 21,999 ($295) while the 8/128GB trim will set buyers back INR 23,999 ($322). A special introductory offer gets the price down to INR 19,999($268) for the base 6/128GB model. First sales begin on May 1 from Samsung.com and Amazon India.
