Samsung Galaxy A51 press renders leak ahead of December 12 unveiling

Samsung is getting ready to unleash a slew of new A-series devices into the world, and one of the most anticipated is definitely the Galaxy A51. That’s because its predecessor, the A50, was the king of the newly revamped A-line, in terms of sales.

We’ve already seen the A51 in CAD-based renders, and it’s also been spotted at the FCC. Now it’s time for a bunch of official-looking press renders, portraying it in all its glory.

The phone boasts a camera island shape that seems to be Samsung’s trademark for its 2020 devices, with an L-shaped arrangement of the shooters themselves inside. The A51 will be Samsung’s most affordable handset with a quad cam setup on the rear.

The primary one is 48 MP f/2.0, and you also get a 12 MP f/2.2 ultrawide, a 5 MP depth sensor, and a 5 MP f/2.4 dedicated macro camera. This is expected to be one of the biggest talking points in official materials, because of the very tight close-ups it enables.

The “3D Glasstic” build from the previous A-series generation is here to stay, only now it has pastel shade pattern combos. The phone will be offered in Prism Crush White, black, pink, and blue. The centered punch-hole selfie cam appears to be one of those unique features on upcoming Samsung phones, to better differentiate them from the competition.

The A51 measures 158.5 x 73.6 x 7.9 mm, and weighs 172g. It’s powered by the Exynos 9611 chipset, with 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage, expandable via microSD. The screen is a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, while the hole-punch is there for a 32 MP f/2.2 front-facing camera. The fingerprint sensor is of the in-display variety. A 4,000 mAh battery keeps the lights running, and it has support for 15W charging.

The Galaxy A51 will become official on December 12, at an event that was previously teased by Samsung’s arm in Vietnam. This may be the only handset announced on that occasion, as apparently the A71 and a couple of other upcoming A-series models will only see the light of day next year.
