National Cryptocurrency Association Kicks off With $50M From Ripple to Fuel US Crypto Growth
The National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA), a new initiative aimed at increasing cryptocurrency literacy across the United States, has officially launched. In a press release on March 5, the non-profit organization emphasized its focus on “education, guidance and support” while highlighting crypto’s real-world impact on everyday people.
Stuart Alderoty shared on social media platform X: “I’m excited to join as President (in addition to my role as Chief Legal Officer at Ripple). What’s the NCA going to do, you ask? It’s putting a spotlight on real people and businesses using crypto everyday. NCA is not a political organization – it’s open to all, not limited to a specific project or protocol.” The Ripple legal chief added:
NCA is here to cut through the noise and make sure everyday Americans have the facts, resources and tools, and support they need to engage with crypto confidently.
“Crypto going mainstream is no longer a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’,” he added. “Millions are already benefiting from crypto making it quicker and easier to shop online, send money anywhere in the world, create apps, art and games, or build financial futures. We’re giving a voice to users from all walks of life and serving as a guide for how to use crypto responsibly.”
The NCA’s efforts have received significant support from industry leaders, including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who announced a $50 million grant from Ripple to fund the initiative. He explained:
The opportunity for crypto – especially in the U.S. – is now stronger than ever. That’s why I’m proud to announce that Ripple will be funding the NCA with a $50 million grant to educate, raise awareness and shine a spotlight on all the positives that crypto is bringing to people across the country.
In a post on social media platform X, Garlinghouse stated: “Over the last few years, crypto has catapulted to the mainstream. Today, 55 million Americans hold and use crypto, and many more are curious – where, when and how can I use this tech in my life?” He explained that “The National Cryptocurrency Association – a chain-agnostic, non-political, non-profit – is here to help by educating and raising awareness of all the utility that crypto technologies are bringing to real people, everyday.” While reaffirming the organization’s independence, he noted: “The NCA is independent of Ripple, but we are proud to support.”
