Realme Q2 shows up on GeekBench, revealing some specs

A new Realme Q2 family of phones is on its way. We have known as much at least since the end of September, with today bringing official confirmation of a Chinese launch event on Weibo. The event will be held on October 13 at 10AM (2AM UTC).

It's official: Realme Q2 series smartphones will be unveiled on October 13

As far as we currently know, there will be a vanilla Realme Q2, as well as a Q2 Pro. Hot on the heels of the event announcement, a certain Realme RMX2117 listing popped-up on GeekBench and appears to have been scrubbed from the database since. This is believed to be the regular Realme Q2. As per the benchmark run, it will be based on the MediaTek Dimensity 800U – an affordable chip, with dial 5G SIM support. In this particular device, it is paired with 6GB of RAM. GeekBench also reveals that the phone will run on Android 10. Most likely with Realme UI 2.0 on top, as already suggested by Realme themselves.

We still lack a lot of info on the Realme Q2. Even more so the Q2 Pro. Ad earlier TENAA listing for the RMX2117 (Realme Q2) has suggested a 6.5-inch, FullHD+ LCD display, as well as a triple 48MP, plus 8MP, plus 2MP main camera setup and a 16MP selfie. A 4,900 mAh battery, with 30W fast charging is also attributed to the regular Realme Q2. So is a leaked back panel design, with a “Dare To Leap” slogan, edged into a leather surface.

All pretty exciting prospects. The Realme Q2 Pro is still shrouded in a lot more mystery, leaving some excitement for the October 22 event, for now. Perhaps, that’s the RMX2173 detailed in a certain AnTuTu leak, with an OLED panel and 65W charging? We’ll just have to wait and see.
