Last December, we exclusively reported about the Realme Race (RMX2202) powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is going to put the start of the new GT series. Today Realme announced it will unveil the GT 5G on March 4 in China at 2PM local time.
Realme confirmed that GT 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 but didn’t reveal any other details. The GT 5G is likely the retail name for Realme Race, and it will come with Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage.

The GT 5G was spotted in TENAA’s database recently, revealing it will have a punch hole display and sport a triple camera setup on the back rumored to comprise 64MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 13MP telephoto units.

However, a couple of leaks showed the smartphone with different designs – one having a glass back and the other having a leather-like texture. Reliable tipster earlier today said the GT 5G will arrive in plain leather and glass versions, so it seems Realme’s first Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone will indeed have multiple designs to choose from.

Realme is yet to detail the GT 5G’s specs, but we expect it to come with 125W UltraDart charging and a 120Hz screen. Although there are rumors the smartphone will sport a 160Hz panel.
With the unveiling still two weeks away, we’ll likely hear more about the Realme GT 5G in the coming days.
