The Realme Buds Air 2 TWS earphones are expected to go official soon, and yesterday we exclusively reported they will look similar to the Buds Air Pro, come in Black color, and feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Today, a couple of new screenshots of the Realme Link app have surfaced, which corroborate our information and reveal new features.
Realme Buds Air Pro
The screenshots tell us that like the Buds Air Pro and Buds Wireless Pro, the Buds Air 2 will also come with General and Transparency modes in addition to Noise cancellation. There’s also a Game Mode that should reduce the latency for a better gaming experience, and a Volume Enhancer, which will further increase the volume in case your track isn’t loud enough.
The first-gen Buds Air didn’t come with Volume Enhancer, just like they didn’t come with the Lively, Clear, and Bass Boost+ sound effects that the Buds Air 2 will have onboard. It’s unclear what exactly Lively and Clear will do, but going by the icon used for the latter, we believe it will enhance the vocals in the audio.
We also see In-ear detection and Auto answer, and while the Buds Air 2 will support touch controls like previous TWS earphones, Realme appears to have added a new gesture that will let you touch and hold the left and right earbuds at the same time to switch noise cancellation. On previous TWS earphones you could only use this gesture on one bud at a time.
The Buds Air 2 TWS earphones look like a nice upgrade over the Buds Air, but there are still a few questions to be answered, one of them being whether the Buds Air 2 will support wireless charging.
Right now, only the first-gen Buds Air support wireless charging. Realme ditched it on the Pro model in favor of active noise cancellation, and it remains to be seen if the Buds Air 2 will mark its comeback.
There’s no word from Realme about the Buds Air 2 yet, but Mr. Madhav Sheth – VP of Realme and CEO of Realme India and Europe – recently teased new TWS earphones with ANC, Transparency Mode, and touch controls, which are likely the Buds Air 2. We’ll hopefully hear more about them in the coming days.
