Realme 7 5G announced with Dimensity 800U and 120Hz LCD

Realme just unveiled a very interesting offering to European and Indian users dubbed Realme 7 5G. It’s an affordable 5G phone powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U 5G chipset – both a rarety outside China.

The 7nm chipset brings an integrated 5G modem and dual 5G SIM support. Its CPU has two Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz alongside six Cortex-A55 units running at 2.0GHz and the Mali-G57 GPU. The chip is paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The Realme 7 5G sports a 6.5-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a 16MP selfie cam housed in the punch hole cutout. You’ll find the fingerprint scanner integrated in the power button on the side.

Around the back, we have a 48MP primary shooter with a 1/1.73” sensor and f/1.8 aperture. It’s accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide snapper with a 119-degree field of view and f/2.3 aperture. You also get two 2MP modules – a monochrome sensor and a macro lens.

The software font is covered by realme UI based on Android 10. The battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and supports 30W fast wired charging.

The Realme 7 5G will retail for £279 in its base 6/128GB trim but a limited Black Friday offer will shave off £50, bringing the price down to £229 between November 27-30. This in turn makes Realme 7 5G the most affordable 5G phone in Europe.

Realme is partnering with Amazon for the Black Friday sales and the phone will also be available through its own official website. Pre-orders are already open and availability commences on November 27.
