Qualcomm partners with ESL Gaming to launch Snapdragon Pro Series with $2 million in prize money

Qualcomm and ESL Gaming have just announced a multi-year partnership to “provide accessible and high quality mobile esports experiences for both new and veteran competitors.” The Snapdragon Pro Series isn’t a chipset, but rather a series of mobile esports competitions across North America, Europe, the Middle-East, China, North Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

There will be three competition tiers: Open, Challenge, and Masters. Players across all regions could win from an estimated $2 million in price money – presumably over the course of the multi-year Series.

The competitions will leverage premium-tier Snapdragon-powered devices using “Snapdragon Elite Gaming” optimizations.

The partnership with ESL is part of Qualcomm’s gaming strategy and to leverage the Snapdragon name with the mobile esports industry.
